ISTANBUL, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Some 3,000 Turks boarded ferry
boats in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi early on Wednesday
and set off for Turkey in a mass evacuation from the violence
engulfing the North African country.
The Foreign Ministry said the Orhan Gazi ferry departed Benghazi port at 3:30 a.m. with 1,500 Turks and the Osman Gazi set off at 5:00 a.m. with another 1,500 passengers.
Their journey to Marmaris in southwest Turkey was seen taking 20 hours. (Writing by Daren Butler; Editing by Maria Golovnina)
