KABUL, March 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates cautioned on Monday that any foreign military intervention in the crisis in Libya should have international backing.
Gates, speaking during a trip to Afghanistan, said developments in the Middle East had demonstrated the ruthlessness of Iranian security forces towards protesters in Iran.
